Despite an off season of a possible sale of the famed half-mile, a night change, track reconfiguration, etc… It has become status quo for Can-Am Motorsports Park with the Caprara Bros. owning and Chip Burdick promoting and 2009 has seen a very successful season to date. The only change is that the once North Country Saturday night mainstay did switch to Friday nights and it’s been working.
SUNY Canton Series Weekend for Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints: Two Nights at Can-Am, One Night at Utica-Rome all $2,000 to win!
SYRACUSE, NY – When the 2009 racing schedule was released for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) many race teams and fans took notice of the 4th of July holiday weekend. All three nights are a part of the SUNY Canton Series which pay $2,000 to win with unique back to back events at Can-Am Motorsports Park and then on Sunday to the Utica-Rome Speedway.
July 3rd & 4th - Can-Am
Pit Gates: 5:00 Fri./4:30 Sat.
Racing: 7:15 Fri./7:00 Sat.
Pit Fees: $25 for Members, $30 Non-Members
Age Limit in Pits: None
Grandstands: $20 (if you attend Fri., you get $5 off for Sat.)
Mufflers: No
Transponders: Yes
Tires – Yes
Fuel – Yes.
Other Information: Both events part of the SUNY Canton Series, $2,000 to win. The events are to separate full point shows, if you miss Friday there is no penalty for Sat. RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. – Jason Barney was mad at himself after his heat race because he didn’t make a pass to get by another competitor. The lack of the pass cost him a spot in his heat race but it worked out well for the Constantia, N.Y., driver as he earned his first Lucas Oil Empire Super win of the 2009 season at the Ransomville Speedway.
